concrete reinforcing bars astm a-615 grade 40 & 60 Intermediate grade - deformed |
| |
Concrete Reinforcing Bars are designated to provide the strongest possible mechanical bond between steel and concrete. They are furnished in straight lengths, however, they may be bent or fabricated to special engineering requirements. Manufactured of Intermediate Grade Steel, they conform to all building codes and latest ASTM Specification A-15 and A-305. No. 2 bars are lain round - No. 3 bars are plain round or deformed. No. 9, 10 and 11 bars are round bars equivalent in area to the square bar in size shown. |

merchant Bar quality |
| |
Merchant Bar Quality is a low carbon, hot rolled steel commonly referred to as "soft" or "mild" steel. It is easy to machine, weld and form. For this reason, it is frequently used for general production and repair work, welding jobs, machine parts, bracing and the like. It is not recommended for forging, heat treating, or complicated maachine operations. Seams and minor surface irregularities may be present but they are not objectionable. Chemistry is subject to ladle analysis only. |

special bar quality |
| |
Special Bar Quality is a better quality of steel manufactured under additional controls. Surface imperfections are held to a minimum due to additional operations on the blooms and billets at the mill. This grade of steel is desireable for use in applications where more exacting requirements exist for machining and heat treating. Chemistry is subject to ladle and check analysis. |
